Most existing solutions that include corrosion inhibition properties still do not fully solve the corrosion issue.
'ECO-ST1' however has a 0.8% corrosion rate and has a Corrosion Inhibition Performance that is more than 37 times higher than that of the PNS standard (at 30%).
As a result, 'ECO-ST1' can fully address corrosion concerns, almost eliminating repair cost caused by corrosion which cannot be achieved by current deicers on the market.
Road salt causes major damages to concrete as well as difficulties in road and structure maintenance.
The damage to concrete caused by ECO-ST1 on the other hand is only 24% compared to that of road salt.
This experiment was conducted to test steel corrosion by using 5% of eco-friendly ice deicers (ECO-ST1 and H Co.) and road salt and 1% of road salt with water. After placing the steel for 20 hours in each of the mixture solutions, there was no corrosion in the steel that was placed in the ECO-ST1 solution. The steel placed in the 5% ECO-ST1 showed only 0.11g reduction and a corrosion rate of 3.2% compared to the steel placed in the 5% road salt solution. This proves that ECO-ST1 eliminates corrosion.
